In 1963, Goldsmith said, “This year the word came to me to take our students from metaphysics to mysticism … and this mission was immediately undertaken.” To fulfill the mission, Goldsmith gave 62 “Hotel Talks” in Hawaii during 1963 and 1964, which are collected in Consciousness Transformed. This is a 600-page book that contains the deepest of Joel’s teachings. The talks were not tape recorded and are presented in this volume from transcripts. They are considered by many to express mysticism at its highest level. At one point Goldsmith himself said, “During the last two to three weeks… it became clear that we are entering the consciousness that does not need words or thoughts. We can sit down to meditate and realize: The Kingdom of God is ‘closer than breathing, nearer than hands and feet.’”

Soon after the publication of The Infinite Way in 1947, Joel Goldsmith gave a series of lectures in San Francisco. These classes set the foundation for what was to become Goldsmith’s worldwide teaching ministry. They laid out a framework of spiritual principles with such integrity and purity that students of sufficient intent and motivation who worked with them could experience illumination. These lectures were recorded on a wire recorder and transcribed for students. Later they were put into a book called Metaphysical Notes, which has now become Consciousness in Transition.

Invisible Supply offers the reader a new perspective on the subject of supply. Goldsmith tells us that while we typically believe that money constitutes our supply and that it comes through material means, this is not so. “The Infinite Way principle of supply,” Goldsmith says, “is that in our oneness with God, we already have all that the Father has because ‘I and the Father are one and all that the Father has is mine.’ If we individually are experiencing a lack, it is not because of any actual lack. It is because of our inability to make contact with our supply … The principle of supply is the realization that we already have, even though appearances may not testify to that.”

In Invisible Supply, Goldsmith outlines the principles that can not only bring about growth of spiritual consciousness and inner peace, but also provide for material needs. In Goldsmith’s words, “Supply is infinite and it is omnipresent wherever you may be. Like Moses, we can realize that we do not have to live on yesterday’s manna, nor do we have to gather today’s manna for tomorrow. The supply is infinite.” This realization manifests in our experience as the fulfillment of every need.

Goldsmith guides the reader to see that to realize the infinite nature of supply, we must develop spiritual consciousness, which means coming to the experience of one’s true Self. In God, the Substance of All Form, Goldsmith establishes the mystical truth that God is the reality, the divine consciousness of our being, and that the purpose of the spiritual life is to bring us to the fullness of that realization. He teaches that we can come to this realization through meditation, in which we can gain a conscious awareness of the presence and power of God. The very object of a spiritual path, the author explains, is to experience the truth that “I and my Father are one.”

Goldsmith clearly explains that power, substance and life are never in any effect, but always in that which produces the effect. He goes on to show that this Consciousness, this Spirit that we truly are, is the substance of all spiritual form, and takes us deeply into that truth:

“We have said that God is the substance of all form, that God is the reality of all form, the substance and reality of all effect. Are we then to understand God as the substance of the body, trees, flowers, sun, moon, stars, and all that we cognize with the material senses? No, this is a spiritual universe. It is true that God is the substance of all form: God is the substance of your very body and of all creation; but remember, when I see you, that is, when I see your body or when I see the trees or flowers, I am not seeing God’s creation – I am not seeing the spiritual universe – I am seeing only a finite material concept of it. This means that the only universe there is, is the real universe, and the only body there is, is the real body, but what I am seeing is my concept of them. Therefore, the only unreality about them is in my false concept of them.”

With the finely honed skill of a master teacher, Goldsmith elaborates on this challenging principle, using it to explain how spiritual healing work is done, and emphasizing that a healing consciousness is one that is consciously aware of the perfection that already exists, despite any appearance. He answers age-old questions about death, the nature of the material world, and the relationship between consciousness and experience. Joel Goldsmith studied the spiritual literature of the world and he writes, “Insofar as I have observed from my study of the spiritual literature of the world, the truth stated in this book has never been fully revealed before, yet it is the absolute basis for true spiritual living.” The Thunder of Silence is based on the principle that there is an inner Grace available to all that does not operate through or by physical might or mental powers.
