Ordering an item from Acropolis Books? We can ship to virtually any address in the world. Acropolis Books now offers a variety of options for shipping and delivery times.  These are stated on the Website order form at check out time.  Customers may select from the USPS Media Mail to shipment by UPS.   

Please note:  Acropolis Books processes and ships twice during each business week.  Please take this into consideration for your shipping method and arrival time.

Shipping costs for orders from Acropolis Books depend upon the methods and options you choose. 

US Postal Service Shipping

Approximate transit times for each US Postal Service shipping method are listed below.

(We process and ship twice each week)

·         Media Mail U.S.: 4 to 14 business days in the Continental US after shipping (may take up to 21 business days if being shipped to the US West Coast region)

·         Parcel Post US: 4 – 7 business days in the Continental US after shipping (may take up to 14 business days if being shipped to the US West Coast region)  

·         Priority U.S.: 2 to 6 business days after shipping (This also applies to Alaska, Hawaii and US Territories)

·         International: 3 to 6 weeks (may take 8 to 14 weeks due to customs delays)   Please note, Canada falls under the International shipping terms.  Please define if you wish to ship via Surface/Economy or Airmail.  Approximate Times – 4 to 7 days for Airmail and 3 – 6 weeks for Surface this does not include time to clear Customs.

UPS Shipping

Acropolis Books now offers shipping via United Parcel Service (UPS) for the Continental US only.  All other areas such as Alaska, Hawaii, US Territories, Canada and International should use the US Postal Service as a more effective method of shipping.

UPS Shipping

• No weekend delivery; no P.O. boxes or APO/FPO
• Items may ship using a variety of methods, both air and ground
• Signature upon delivery required for shipments over $400

Please also note that the shipping rates for many items we sell are weight-based. The weight of any such item can be found on its detail page. To reflect the policies of the shipping companies we use, all weights will be rounded up to the next full pound.

Shipping to Prisons

Acropolis Books delivers to penitentiaries, but we strongly suggest you contact the prison first to confirm that they accept deliveries and to note any special regulations the prison might have. Some prisons don't allow delivery of hardcover books. Others place a limit on the number of items contained in a package.

We're unable to affix any special labels or instructions to the packages.  On the outside Acropolis Books will indicate only the destination address, our company name, and our return address. We also cannot allow gifts to be sent anonymously to inmates; the sender's billing address will appear on the order invoice.

Because inmates cannot sign for deliveries, packages must be sent via U.S. Mail. While Acropolis Books often sends packages via U.S. Mail, we also use UPS.  To avoid delivery problems, you might consider having the items shipped to you and then shipping them to the penitentiary via U.S. Mail.
